Katrin Kaarna announced as Girls Academy Director

Cincinnati United Soccer Club is thrilled to announce the appointment of Katrin Kaarna as the new Girls Academy (GA) Director. With her extensive experience, both internationally and in the GA, and exceptional leadership skills, Kaarna is poised to take the lead for the highly successful CUP GA program, which finished 2nd in the United States 2023 Champions Cup.

Kaarna brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the role. She is experienced as both an international player in her home country of Estonia, and also as an international coach, leading the U16, U17, and U19 National Teams, while assisting on the Full National Team.

Kaarna understands the dedication and commitment needed to succeed in the sport and excels at nurturing talent and creating a positive environment. 

Over the years, Kaarna has consistently demonstrated her ability to develop young players into confident athletes. By focusing on technical skills, tactical awareness, and fostering a growth mindset, Kaarna has consistently produced competitive teams and individual players who have

gone on to achieve success at the collegiate and professional levels.

Under her leadership, our Girls Academy program, already recognized as one of the best in country, will not only continue to flourish but will reach even greater heights for our players, staff and families." 


In her role as Girls Academy Director, Kaarna will oversee the development and implementation of training programs throughout the CUP GA Program. She will work closely with coaches, parents, and players to ensure a supportive and inclusive environment where all athletes can thrive.


"I am honored to be joining Cincinnati United Soccer Club as the Girls Academy Director," said Kaarna.


"I have always believed in the power of soccer to shape lives and develop character. I look forward to working closely with the talented girls at Cincinnati United, and I'm excited to contribute to their growth both on and off the field."


In addition to Kaarna’s International coaching experience, she also holds a Masters in Exercise and Sports Science with an expertise in “Metabolic and Physiological Responses to Complex Training Loads in Youth Soccer.” Kaarna also has a US SOCCER “A” License and the UEFA “A” and “PRO” Licenses.

Cincinnati United Soccer Club is the most competitive club in the tri-state area of Southwest Ohio, Northern Kentucky, and Southeast Indiana. The club currently fields 200+ teams of over 2,700 players. For more information on the club go to here.
